Why every other sharpener fails

If you've ever ruined a good knife trying to sharpen it, you already know the problem.

🔥

Electric sharpeners burn the temper

Spinning wheels heat the steel and destroy the edge integrity. Your knife is never the same.

😤

Freehand is a 10-year skill

Holding a perfect 20° angle while moving a knife takes years of practice most people don't have.

⏱️

Guided systems are slow and clampy

Wicked Edge, Tormek — great results, but the setup takes forever and you can't sharpen big blades.

How The Stone Rocker works

Four steps. Sixty seconds to set up. Sharp knives forever.

1

Mount your stone

Standard 6"×1" — water, oil, or diamond. Universal fit in the rocker carriage.

2

Set the angle guide

9° to 35°, locked in by the precision guide surface. Set it once, and the angle stays perfect.

3

Power on the rocker

The motor rocks the stone back and forth underneath. Variable speed via PWM controller.

4

Slide the knife

Rest the blade against the angle guide. Slide it across the rocking stone. The geometry takes care of itself.

What pros are saying

I tested my edge straight off The Stone Rocker on the BESS gauge and pulled a 33. That's professional sharpening territory — and I did it on my workbench.

Frequently asked questions

The straight answers, no fluff.

How does it actually work?
You mount a standard 6"×1" sharpening stone in the rocker carriage. The motor rocks the stone back and forth underneath. You rest the knife edge against the precision angle guide and slide the knife across the stone. The guide holds the angle perfectly while the motor does the grinding work. No clamps, no skill curve.
What kind of stones does it use?
Any standard 6"×1" sharpening stone — waterstones, oilstones, diamond plates, ceramic. Most knife enthusiasts already have a collection that fits perfectly.
Will it damage my expensive knives?
No. Unlike spinning electric sharpeners, The Stone Rocker doesn't generate heat. Your knife's temper, factory edge geometry, and steel integrity stay intact. It's safe on Japanese steel, high-carbon, super steels — anything.
How sharp can it get?
Sharpness depends on your stones, your technique, and the knife. The system removes the angle-control variable, which is what trips up most users. Results scale with practice and finer-grit progression. Final polish on a strop is what takes a good edge to a great one.
How long does it take to learn?
About 5 minutes for usable results — the angle guide does the hard part. Like any precision tool, getting the most out of it (mirror polish, hair-popping edges) takes some practice with finer stones and strop technique.
Where is it made and shipped from?
Hand-assembled in Canada, one at a time. We ship internationally. Each unit is tested before it leaves the bench.
What's the warranty?
Lifetime support on the motor and frame. Stones and consumables aren't covered, but replacements are cheap and easy to swap. If anything ever goes wrong, you email us directly — no call centers.
